Zone Aviation Youth Aviator Camps Postponed Until August, 2020
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Zone Aviation is tentatively postponing our Youth Aviator Camps. As we want to make sure that we can conduct these camps in a safe and fun environment, we feel that it would be prudent to delay them until conditions improve.
The Junior Aviator Camp, previously scheduled for June 29-July 2, will now be held August 3-August 6.
The Senior Aviator Camp, previously scheduled for July 13-July 16, will now be held August 10-August 13.
As this situation is extremely fluid, we certainly have considered that we might have to cancel the camps completely if we feel that they cannot be conducted safely. Anyone who registers for one of the Youth Aviator camps will receive a full refund of the tuition should we need to cancel. Thanks for your understanding, and stay safe and healthy!
Zone Offices to Reopen Tuesday, May 12!
In accordance with the plan to reopen businesses in Ohio announced by the governor on April 27, Zone Aviation anticipates reopening our Lorain County and Burke Lakefront offices on Tuesday, May 12, 2020. We expect to resume full operations in the areas of aircraft rental, ground instruction, simulator rental and instruction, and written FAA examinations. We are awaiting further guidance as to when and how dual instruction will resume in full.
We at Zone Aviation would like to extend our sincerest thanks to all of you who stayed home and complied with the orders of our government and public health officials. As a result of your actions, the health care system in our state was not overwhelmed the ways that those in other states were. We have made sacrifices, and delayed the things we wanted to do, for the good of the community at large. We also wish to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our doctors, nurses, and healthcare providers, especially those who fly with us. You continue to be on the front lines of this pandemic, and our sacrifices pale in comparison to those that you make everyday. Thank you!
Despite our efforts over the past six weeks, COVID-19 is still present. As such, even though we are permitted to open on May 12, we will be doing so with several social distancing protocols in place:
ILLNESS-Employees: If you feel ill, DO NOT come to work. Customers: If you feel ill, DO NOT FLY. It’s that simple!
MASKS-Though no longer unconditionally mandated, the wearing of masks by Zone employees AND customers is STRONGLY encouraged. Remember, asymptomatic and pre-symptomatic individuals can, and do, spread the disease to others. Masks are a simple and effective way to reduce your risk of getting sick, as well as the risk that you might pass the disease on to others.
SANITIZER/CLEANING AGENTS-We will provide hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes, and will clean frequently touched surfaces on a regular basis. However, we STRONGLY recommend that customers bring their own sanitizer/wipes and wipe down aircraft and equipment before AND after use. The more of us that tackle this problem, the less the risk that any of us will get sick.
SOCIAL DISTANCING-The 6 foot social distancing rules are in place. Whenever and wherever possible, please try to maintain six feet of distance from other customers and employees.
While we are excited to be reopening soon, we want to be careful that we are doing it in the safest way possible. We all want to get back in the air, but we at Zone Aviation want to do so with the health and safety of our customers and employees as our top priority. Thanks, and we’ll see you soon!
“Stay at Home” Order Prompts Temporary Suspension of Operations
Thank you in advance for your understanding and compliance during these trying times. We sincerely hope that you stay healthy, and we look forward to flying with you again as soon as possible.
Thank you,
Zone Aviation Management
